The title of my miniature quilt is: Shining Hope

Sometimes true beauty can be reflected in the simple repetition of design.  This quilt tries to emulate beauty through simplicity...

When I saw the photo I thought of a building I saw while on holiday in England.  Then when I read the description of the picture, it is, in fact  the same building.  I chose the shimmery fabric because it reminded me of the facade of the building and quilted a hibiscus flower in the center.

The title of my miniature quilt is: Birmingham by Night

A few years ago, when I visited the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham, I had the opportunity to see the illuminated Selfridges Building with uncountable shiny silver discs dipped in an ocean of blue light in strong contrast to the dark, almost black night sky. A truly fascinating view!

The title of my mini quilt is: Green Star

For the first photo "Cacti" I designed this miniature quilt "Green Star". Just like stars glow in the sky at night do plants bring live to the desert...

The title of my mini quilt is: Push the Button

When I saw the picture No 04 " Silver Blobs", I immediately knew that I wanted to try this one.

The silver buttons reminded me of the bubble wrap (the packaging material that makes a funny "plopp" sound when you squeeze it between your fingers)....

The title of my mini quilt is: Everything is Colourful

The many colours and patterns which can be found in a bazaar brought me to the idea to incorporate different materials, colours and textures in my quilt. The form of the shoes reminded me of flower petals.

The title of my mini quilt is: Wild Saffron

I’ve never been to a bazaar in Morocco, only to a souk in Tunisia, but the picture “Bazaar” immediately made me think of the magic atmosphere of the dark narrow alleys, the colourful, artfully embroidered garments, the typical lamps with hand-engraved ornaments and glass mosaics, and the irresistible flavors of the local spices and herbs. This brought me to saffron...

50pictures - No 03 - Quilt 02

Sea is a live being begetting life and hiding countless secrets in its depths. The things hidden from prying eyes surface only occasionally. Each depth is populated with specific life forms. The closer to the surface the more abundant they are. I like wild nature and sea and preservation of the Earth's ecosystems in their original unspoilt condition worries me.

The work I present reflects my deep love to nature and people. I have sewn my little quilt by hand using the applique, embroidery and stitching techniques. The design is constructed using the tessellation method.

I named my quilt "Mysterious Sea".

The title of my miniature quilt is: Tiger Lily

I chose this photo because there already exist many classical block patterns featuring lilies and I was interested in creating something of my own.

The result was a Log Cabin Block which was cut in 6 parts and finally framed with green stripes until it reached its final size.

The title of my quilt is Diversity.

Bazaar reminds me of the diversity we see in our world in the different styles that exist.  The quilt reflects diversity in color and texture.

For my quilt, I selected photo No 3, seaweed. I like all the pictures published so far, but I don't have that much time and can't make a quilt for every picture.

I selected photo No 3 because I have wanted to try curved Crazy for some time and the picture lends itself perfectly for this technique.

I have named my quilt Seaweed.
