Yes, we're sewing again, almost at the finish line for our most extraordinary community quilt the world has ever seen. The 5th and final panel is the biggest with 5 columns but two of them are already done, including the one with the cute little block from our youngest participant Fedor from Russia. He was only 5 years old when he designed and sewed his block "Caucasian Fir". Isn't it just gorgeous? Keep up your great creative work, Fedor!!

On Monday evening we met for the 11th time to complete the 4th panel and to design the fifth and final panel. Also yesterday we received a wonderful sweet surprise, this time delicious Christmas cookies from a dear quilt friend from Austria! We really needed this "comfort food", because we had to re-measure all panels and realized that we had to unpick and correct some parts. But hey, we want our quilt to be perfect after all!!

We had a “Ladies Night” yesterday and continued working on the last blocks for our 3rd panel. Coming from an area with many subtle natural colors, we’re now moving into various shades of yellow, red and blue tones.

As Anke and Derry were prevented from attending by previous committments, Johann and Jutta only made some preliminary suggestions by pinning fabrics onto the design wall.
