The catholic church of Balatonföldvár was built out of red sandstone in the years 1942 - 1944 by the craftsmen returning from the World War.

They had decided to embed our country's emblem into the neo-roman style building's wall as an offering in the hope that the fate of Hungary would turn for the better.

In the following years the Hungarians were not allowed to use their national symbols but to know that they have an arms of the country that nobody can take away from them made the people of Balatföldvar very happy.
